Review | Weleda Baby White Mallow Range

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now you’ll know that I’m a big fan of Weleda and their lovely products. I’m slowly trying different products from different ranges and one of our favourites is the Calendula baby range.

Arlo suffers with Eczema quite badly and when he has flare-ups he gets it from head to toe so I have to be really careful with what I pop onto his skin. The *White Mallow range is suitable for Eczema prone skin and have been accepted by the National Eczema Association.

The wonderful people at Weleda kindly sent us the White Mallow range to try. We received the Body Lotion, Face Cream and Nappy Change Cream. I’ve been using them on Arlo’s skin since around November now and he hasn’t had one flare-up yet.

White Mallow or Althea comes from the Greek word meaning ‘curing’. White mallow was used as a healing plant in ancient times in China, Syria, Egypt and Greece.

At first glance, it is a rather delicate plant, but the white mallow can withstand a lack of water and heat easily. Gel-like substances in the roots and flowers protect the plant from drying out, the high concentration of mucilaginous substances in the roots make white mallow calming, soothing, emollient, protective and moisturising.

White Mallow Body Lotion | 200ml £13.50

We love this. It’s so easy to use, it absorbs into the skin quickly. It looks like it’s got a thick consistency but when you work it into the skin it’s actually thin and smooth feeling. There’s no fragrance so it won’t irritate the skin. His skin feels so soft afterwards, I use it on my knees and elbows as they get really dry and itchy too.

White Mallow Face Cream | 50ml £11.50

A little goes a long way with this cream. It’s thicker than the body lotion but is still really easy to work into the skin. I use this every morning and night on Arlo’s face and more so now it’s getting colder. It gives his delicate skin that extra protection.

White Mallow Nappy Change Cream | 50ml £9.50

I really like this nappy cream. It feels really soft and is quite creamy, is easy to work into the nappy area of the skin and soothes irritated skin. The zinc oxide protects against moisture. As we know moisture leads to nappy rash and quite painful and sore skin if not treated correctly. This is becoming one of my favourites as it works really well.

In conjunction with pansy, which is soothing and healing, the white mallow range demonstrates its protective properties particularly well. In addition, coconut oil and sesame oil nourish the skin intensively. I highly recommend this range for anyone who suffers with eczema or really dry and hypersensitive skin. We absolutely love the range and I will be making sure I always have this in for Arlo.

Have you tried this range?? What did you think??
