Clean Beauty Awards 2021 | Jury Box Contents and First Impressions

If you follow me over on Instagram you will have seen that I announced I would be a judge in the up and coming 6th Annual Clean Beauty Awards by Cert Clean. I also did an unboxing video over on my YouTube Channel.

I’m so excited as this is such a massive opportunity as Cert Clean recognises the best performing beauty and personal care products from around the globe, made without any harmful chemicals.

The products are judged by an eminent panel of green beauty influencers and advocates. We all come together to determine the best performing natural products on the market today. The mission is simple – to accelerate the growth of the clean beauty movement and make safe skincare the new norm.

I wanted to share the contents of my jury box and my first impressions with you so let’s jump straight in.

Pure Creations – Bio Retinol ELIXIR Oil | 30ml $28.99

Pure Creations are a Canadian brand and one I’ve never heard of let alone tried. I’ve never tried an elixir oil like this, so I’m looking forward to giving it a really good try. You also get so much product in the bottle this will last some time for sure. It has such a fresh scent to it.

The elixir helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and protects the complexion from environmental factors, revealing brighter, younger-looking skin. It also helps to hydrate and protect the skin into a glowing complexion and is suitable for all skin types including sensitive, stressed and matured skin.

Apply 5 – 10 drops to clean, damp face, neck and decollate, massaging in an upward circular motion.

Helena Lane Organic Skincare – Balancing Facial Oil | 30ml $36

Another Canadian brand that is completely new to me, however, the founder is British. This is suitable for all skin types, especially oily, combination, sensitive and blemished skin. So I’m really hoping that this works well for my combination skin.

Helena Lane uses 100% certified organic ingredients and it’s packed full of goodness from Argan Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, Sea Buckthorn and essential oils of chamomile and geranium that work to balance oils, calm irritations, kill infections and create radiance to your skin.

Warm a few drops of face oil in your fingertips and press into the face and neck. Best applied after, or mixed with your Hydrating Mist or Serum.

Best used at night after cleansing, but can also be used as a light summertime daytime moisturizer.

Luxeluna – Anti-Aging Facial Oil | 30ml $30

Luxeluna is another new brand that hails from Australia. It sounds absolutely lovely and the story behind the brand is a sad one but really lovely. I do love a good anti-ageing product so really looking forward to trying this one. It’s suitable for all skin types.

A blend of 8 carefully selected organic plant oils that will help nourish, hydrate, rejuvenate and regenerate, and improve skin elasticity. If you have dull skin, use face oil as a primer before applying makeup. As with most face oils, a little really does go a long way.

Use 1-2 drops twice a day, morning and evening after cleansing.

MisMacK Clean Cosmetics – Nourishing Skin Oil | 30ml $54

Another Canadian brand, another new one for me. In fact, they’re all new to me which I love! They are definitely brands I wouldn’t look out for so love the fact they are now on my radar and I will be having a look at their other products.

This sounds great and the antioxidant-infused nourishing skin oil hydrates, Moisturizing, and helps Repair Skin. Leaving you with Happy, Healthy, Nourished Skin, using nothing but the power of Plants and natural Power Oils. I’ve never had a facial oil that has a pump before and I love that on this. I’ve used other products with pumps, so this will be a great way to keep the oil hygienic.

One Pump is all you need day and night and is suitable for all skin types and ages.

Cocoon Apothecary – Carotene Glow | 7.5ml $28

I’m really looking forward to trying this little Canadian dream out. At first, I was a little curious as to why the bottle was so small and thought maybe it was a sample but in fact, it is a full-sized product, they all are. After reading a little bit about this I realised it’s a highly concentrated oil so you don’t need a lot of this at all.

This is suitable for normal to dry skin and packs a punch, it’s nutrient-rich and the concentrated botanical extracts support the skin’s barrier while creating a warm and healthy carotene glow.  CO2 (Supercritical Extraction) is one of the most efficient methods of creating a substance that embodies the entire plant and its capabilities. The CO2s of organic sea buckthorn, organic pomegranate and organic rosehip, all rich in powerful bioactive, work together to repair dry skin while Frankincense CO2 soothes and revitalizes it.

Customize your routine by adding two drops to your serum or moisturiser to boost its anti-ageing activity.

Zorah Biocosmetiques – Fermeté Night Oil | 20ml $89

Thie little French Canadian brand had me all intrigued as I’ve never seen or heard of a night oil before. This is another concentrated oil so there’s no need for a huge bottle when a little does go a long way. There’s no scent to this and I like the lid too, it’s a pipette with a pump top.

This is another oil suitable for all skin types that also have anti-ageing properties. I love that this is also a night treatment so really looking forward to seeing how my skin goes with this. I might get my mum to give it a try too for her dry skin and see how it works for her.

The ultra-concentrated ingredients in Fermeté Night Oil work overnight and increase skin firmness. This oil improves its elasticity while reducing its fragility and its tendency to create wrinkles. The skin is visibly firmer when you wake up and is ready to start the day.

You only need a couple of drops for your face and neck and you’re good to go.

I’m really excited to be judging this category, as you can see there are some really great looking products. I think this could be a hard one to judge. Keep an eye on my social media accounts as I will be sharing them across those.

Have you tried any of these brands?? Is there anything you’d like me to review for you in detail??
